Flight Scholarships
The Fullerton 99s Sylvia Paoli Scholarship
The Fullerton Chapter of the Ninety-Nines is taking applications for the Sylvia Paoli Scholarship. A $1,974 award to help fund flight training in honor of the year our chapter was formed and for one of our founding members, Sylvia Paoli.
Applicants must:
Be a member of the Southwest Section of the Ninety-Nines. (CA, AZ, NV, UT, HI)
Have a minimum of five hours of flight training in the six months prior to the application deadline.
Have a current and valid medical certificate.
Have a pilot certificate. (Student pilots must have their written completed or have soloed.)
Receive their flight training within the United States.
Demonstrate a need for financial assistance.
Applications must be submitted by August 31st.
The Fullerton 99s Maverick Scholarship
The Fullerton Chapter of the Ninety-Nines, Inc., an International Organization of Women Pilots, will fund a $2000.00 Scholarship for entrants with at least a private pilot certificate to pursue Emergency Maneuvering Training and/or Basic Aerobatics. A committee made up of aviation and business leaders will score the applications and determine a winner.
Must be a current member of the Ninety-Nines in good standing and hold at least their PPL certificate.
Applications must be submitted by March 1st and will be reviewed for that calendar year.
Each year the Ninety-Nines, Inc., (the international organization) awards the Amelia Earhart Memorial Scholarships to qualified members for five different scholarship types, including two specialized scholarships: an Emergency Maneuver Training Scholarship and an International Scholarship for pilots in developing countries. FIRST WINGS AWARD SCHOLARSHIP
The First Wings Awards are semiannual awards of up to $6,000 based on the completion of specific training milestones. They are available only to Student Pilot Members of The 99s who meet eligibility requirements. To be eligible, applicants must hold a student pilot certificate (or provide evidence that they meet their country's flight training requirement), have been an official Student Pilot Member of The Ninety-Nines for at least three months prior to the application deadline, have logged five hours in the six months prior to the application deadline, and show financial need.
The Spring First Wings Award Application deadline is April 1 each year. Membership join date must be no later than January 1 of that year.
The Fall First Wings Award Application deadline is October 1 each year. Membership join date must be no later than July 1 of that year.
